All students who complete the gruelling gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award are invited to   St James’  Palace  to receive their award from a member of the Royal family. As part of Prince Phillip’s last duties this year, he presented the awards. Loreto student Rebecca Cowtan was very proud to receive the award following and having it presented by the Prince of Wales himself was the icing on the cake.

The special guest at the ceremony was Caroline Hawley, antiques specialist, best known for her regular appearances on flog it and Bargain hunt.

Rebecca is one of many students to have completed the Gold Award. Loreto are proud to be the centre that has the largest entry of students, offering Silver and Gold levels of this award. The Duke of Edinburgh’s award is highly respected by employers and Higher Education bodies due to the skills that young people develop during it.
