We are pleased to announce that Loreto Sixth Form College is one of only eight Sixth Form Colleges in the United Kingdom to be shortlisted in The Times Educational Supplement’s Sixth Form College of the Year Award. The award seeks to recognise sixth form colleges which best epitomise the qualities which make the sector so distinctive. Loreto Sixth form College is the only college in the region to have received a Queen’s Anniversary Prize.

One of the criteria for the award is to demonstrate commitment to disseminating good practice; Loreto is a Beacon Status college and is one of only two sixth form colleges designated as a National Teaching School, we have been working with schools and colleges regionally and nationally, sharing good practice withing teaching, learning and assessment.

Loreto has high aspirations for its students not only in the context of academic excellence but within the wider context of human possibilities. The college’s Value Added score for the academic year is Grade 1, the highest possible score in the sector.   Against the framework of its core values, the College challenges and supports not just the learner but the whole person.

The winner of the award will be announced at a dinner at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on 23rd February 2018.
