Ms Lamming is delighted to report that seven  Loreto students who took part in the Micro Tyco challenge have been successful and have been selected to join Deloitte this Summer on their ASPIRE work experience programme. The deserving students, a combination of AS and A2, are: Shahryar Akhter, Thandolwenkosi Dube, Chiedza Kadungure, Abdirahman Mohamed, Jaisal Parmar, Hassan Soyan and Ronan Treanor.

This represents an exceptional achievement as there were only 200 places available and thousands of students took part in the challenge from different schools/colleges across the country.

The students were invited to a celebration event in March at the Deloitte offices in Manchester to thank them all for their hard work, to congratulate them in person and to give them the opportunity to visit the Deloitte offices before they take part in ASPIRE this summer.

As well as marking the students’ successes in Micro-Tyco, the Celebration Event included quiz and  icebreaker games to help them get to know Deloitte a little better; Information about the summer work experience at Deloitte (these details are currently being finalised);  Deloitte Careers information; a fun session on professional networking and business etiquette to help prepare students for the world of work; a presentation from WildHearts demonstrating the incredible impact Micro-Tyco funds will make, and presentation of certificates
