Due to absences in the first team, Khiara was called up to play in Manchester City women’s team against Arsenal at the weekend. Khiara was beaming with pride as I spoke to her after the game. Her first club was playing in the Under 12s as Manchester United for 8 years, before being scouted to Manchester City, where she has been playing for 4 years. she made the switch from striker to Goalkeeper some years ago and as you can see, she is really making an impact in that role.
Khiara said:
“My dream is to become aspires to be a professional footballer. I hope to get signed when I am 18”
She was heavily involved in the last match and despite conceding late on, 17-year-old Keating provided an assured presence between the sticks, saving well from both Vivianne Miedema and Beth Mead in each half in the closing moments of the game,
Team Manager, Gareth Taylor said:
“(Khiara’s) done really well, very calm in everything she does, safe handling, good in the build-up play and has a good understanding”
