Cheadle Hulme vs Loreto College
Although the Loreto team were shy of a full squad, Cheadle Hulme kindly loaned a couple of their players and then it was game on!
After conceding the first goal, ‘Stevie’ delivered a delicious cross into the box to find the lively Max (first half skipper) who finished off the move to draw Loreto level.
Half time score: Cheadle Hulme 1 – 1 Loreto College
Early in the second half, Max once again ran onto a sublime through ball from birthday boy Luke T. to coolly slot one home, past the oncoming keeper. Then Captain Tyler tried his luck from a distance with a ferocious strike that the Cheadle No. 1 found too hot to handle. Max completed the win and his hat-trick with a close range finish. Cue the wild celebrations!
Final score: Cheadle Hulme 1 – 4 Loreto College
Max stole the show, but it was an all round team effort against the odds: Jacob and ‘Manny’ patrolled the backline; Cool Hand Luke ‘B’ assured handling in goal preventing any embarrassment. Special mention should go to the goalkeeper turned left back ‘Mo’, who managed to play the full 90 minutes wearing a borrowed pair of boots, which were too small and odd sizes!
Cheadle Hulme deserve special thanks for being classy act and lending their opposing team both kit and players.
Loreto team: Luke B, Joe, Mo, Emmanuel, Jacob, Luke T, Tyler, ‘Stevie’ and Max
Well done fellas!
The next game is away to Oldham on Wednesday 16 March.
