“The fair was greatly planned out and the information given by the visiting universities was very helpful…”
“I really enjoyed it and found it a valuable activity…”
These are just a couple of quotes from our students who attended this year’s Loreto College Career Fair. Each succeeding year sees the careers fair expanding in size and scope, and this year was no exception. Representatives from over forty universities and thirty plus apprenticeship providers, employers and voluntary organisations were located across two venues, the Sports Hall and Ball Theatre. All students had the opportunity to visit the fair, where they were greeted by an array of stalls and exhibitors’ stands. Large groups soon formed around the ever popular local university stands but it was noticeable that students were also taking a genuine interest in the courses and facilities being offered at St Andrews, Edinburgh, Dundee and Glasgow in Scotland, and Queens, Belfast, and Ulster University, from Northern Ireland. Apprenticeship providers and employers from various fields were kept busy answering questions from enthusiastic students, most of whom left the fair clutching armfuls of prospectuses, information leaflets and promotional gifts.
Coordinators Anne Barker and Keeleigh Savage were delighted with the positive feedback from exhibitors, which included a range of encouraging comments:
‘Students were really keen to get relevant information.’
‘Students were well prepared for the event and had done their research about courses and universities.’
‘We like coming to the Loreto Careers Fair – it’s a well organised and busy event.’
