As we are in the sacred month of Ramadan, last night Iftar was held at Loreto College, organised by Mrs Kambouris and Mrs Mills. We were very honoured to welcome guests from the Mawlawi Kurdish Cultural Centre and the Muslim chaplaincy team from MMU. It was a joyous and wonderful evening. Iftar Dua was held by our Muslim students, who were excellent ambassadors of our college community and of their faith.
Following prayers, all attendees (Muslim and non Muslim students, staff and guests) sat down for a shared meal which was truly abundant! We donated our surplus food to Cornerstone Day Centre, a local charity supporting the homeless and raise money for the Muslim charity, Penny Appeal.
Loreto College is a diverse and vibrant community, committed to promoting Interfaith dialogue. We place great importance on learning about other faiths and engaging with them in a positive and respectful way. We reflect and celebrate our diversity throughout the year by holding a number of events.
