Creative Writing enrichment provides an oasis of calm and creativity in the middle of a busy college week.
Maybe you’re a poet, short-story writer, novelist, playwright, graphic novelist or non-fiction writer. Maybe you don’t know what kind of writer you are yet but you just know you enjoyed it at high school.
About Creative Writing
Whatever kind of writer you are, this enrichment provides a chance to meet other like-minded people and to flex your creative muscles in a friendly and supportive space. We might have lessons on technique such as ‘creating atmosphere and mood’ or ‘developing convincing characters’. Sometimes we might run workshops where students engage in constructive criticism of each other’s work. Often students just enjoy having time and space to write with the possibility of feedback from their teacher or peers. As well as participating in Creative Arts Night, we also enter in-house and national competitions and have the chance throughout the year to meet and speak with published poets and authors.
