The Loreto Orchestra performs at our annual concert at the RNCM, and always accompanies the winner of the St Cecilia Concerto Competition, including playing Mozart’s Violin Concerto in G, Elgar’s Cello Concerto and Kabalevsky’s Violin Concerto. In recent years they have also played symphonic works by Haydn, Beethoven and Schumann.

About Orchestra

The Orchestra rehearses from January, and is usually made up of players who’ve shown good commitment to String Ensemble & Wind Ensemble at the start of the academic year.

A Student view

I had the opportunity to perform Mozart’s Violin Concerto in G major at the RNCM. That was really exciting and one of my favourite memories of playing music ever! I felt so ready for performance after so many rehearsals with the college orchestra.
I would really recommend everyone to take part in music enrichment; there’s so much available and there really is something for everyone to enjoy and it lets you be part of a really friendly and kind music department.
