Upper sixth student Katy Whiteoak is planning ahead and aiming for the Olympics in 2024! Recently Katy represented Greater Manchester Schools at the English Track and Field Championships held at the famous Gateshead Stadium. Despite being at the bottom of her age group, and therefore one of the youngest runners, Katy finished a highly creditable twelfth in the 1500 metre final. Katy says that “….it was a great experience, I loved every minute of it.”

Katy, who came to Loreto from St Anne’s RC High School, has ambitions to study Biology at university and is considering offers from universities in the USA as well as those nearer home. And the Olympics in 2024? The precise venue has yet to be decided but watch out for Katy in Budapest, Paris or Los Angeles, the three contenders.
