In December, the BTEC Extended Diploma Sport Year 1 students attended the PSA Squash World Championships, at the National Squash Centre in Manchester.  The PSA World Championships brought together the best in the world for Women’s and Men’s squash to compete for the sport’s most sought after title.

The Extended Diploma students have been studying and playing the sport during the first term, as part of Unit 9 Practical Individual Sports.  They have studied the sport in relation to its rules and regulations and the skills, techniques and tactics needed to play the sport effectively.  The visit allowed the students to see first-hand what is required at the highest level.   The four sided glass court proved an excellent venue to be able to do a live performance analysis, on a number of elite athletes.
