A group of 25 students have been enthusing about their recent four-day trip to Barcelona organised by Loreto’s Sociology and MFL departments, exploring the different cultures, lifestyles and attractions the global city had to offer.
“Overall it was an amazing experience,” said Erica, Sociology and Spanish language student, “I was able to find out more about the Spanish culture and how Barcelona can differentiate from other cities in various aspects, for instance with language as they speak Catalan as well as Castellano.”
The group visited Park Guell and the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya; Aleksandra, a Spanish language student, really enjoyed going to the city centre “and visiting La Sagrada Familia and having a traditional tapas dinner at a Spanish restaurant’. Luwam, a Sociology student, was also impressed by the tourist attractions they visited, “we had the freedom to explore them ourselves which was fun”. The whole trip was best summed up by Sociology student, Melissa who said, “The trip was enjoyable and the places we visited were really nice. Thank you for such a good experience.” However, the final word goes to Sakinah, another Sociology student, “Thank you so much for the trip, it was so much fun. I loved every part – especially the food! The accommodation was really nice including the karaoke. The trip is definitely a highlight of my college experience. Thank you for the memories.”
