Cutting edge research by former Loreto student, Joseph Gibbons, was presented by Dr Anthony Fauci, Chief Medical Advisor to US President Joe Biden, in a key COVID19 White House briefing.
Joe is the joint first author of this vital work, which highlights the importance of receiving both vaccine doses to provide protection against emerging variants of the virus. Dr Fauci used this evidence to urge the US population to continue to get vaccinated.
The research was published in ‘Science’, one of the most highly respected journals in the world. The fact that it is being used by the top health official in the US to promote vaccinations, underscores both the importance and the high quality of the research.
