A2 Music student Sarah Spencer has been chosen to be part of a prestigious event taking place at the Southbank Centre, in London, as part of the celebrations for International Women’s Day on March 8. The Southbank concert is one of a series of performances designed to highlight the contribution of women composers and women in music generally. Sarah has worked on a collaborative project with renowned contemporary composer Anna Meredith and will be part of an ensemble performing the piece in a live BBC Radio 3 broadcast, listen here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b072hyms

Ex Manchester High School pupil Sarah is an accomplished pianist and harpist but on this occasion will be demonstrating her virtuosity by performing on a synthesiser. Needless to say, A2 student Sarah, who has been offered a place to study Music at Oxford University next year, is anticipating the event with great excitement and looking forward to making her Radio 3 debut!
