Once again Loreto students captured the true spirit of the season by hosting the annual Christmas Party for the residents of Mary & Joseph House. This continues a long tradition, going back decades, of Loreto’s association with this great charity. The college catering company generously provided a traditional Christmas meal for our 35 guests, served by students in Ball Cafeteria. Entertainment ranged from the college Ukulele Band, led by Ms Benson, to Mr Overland playing his guitar and the college Jazz Band playing some jazz standards to a rapt audience. Ms Benson and Mr Webb then performed a duet of the classic Pogues song ‘ Fairy-tale of New York’. The highlight of the evening, as always, was a competitive game of Bingo, this time led by Dr Peskir. It was a most fitting celebration to mark the last week of term.
