BTEC ICT student Robyn Skeete is celebrating after being chosen for a leading role in a prestigious BBC radio drama. ‘The Dream’ by Emile Zola , will be broadcast on Radio 4 in May, with recording taking place earlier at Media City in Salford.

Ex Trinity High School pupil Robyn has been attending acting classes at the Contact Theatre in Manchester, and was auditioned for the part by ‘phone’, having been sent a copy of the script in advance. The producer was impressed and Robyn will now play the part of tragic orphan, Angelique-Marie, in the broadcast, working alongside a cast of professional actors. As if this wasn’t exciting enough, one of the cast members, and narrator of the drama, is none other than Glenda Jackson, one of the most famous figures in UK drama, with a worldwide reputation and numerous awards and credits to her name in a high profile acting career.

Robyn is looking forward to the recording with a mixture of excitement and trepidation and will be reporting back on her experience: watch this space!
