Three students have secured places on the very competitive US Sutton Trust Summer school. This flagship US programme aims to give state school students a taste of life at an American university. The programme, delivered in partnership with the US-UK Fulbright Commission, is centered on a one week summer school in the US (in previous years at either Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Yale University or Harvard) with introductory events and application support in the UK before and after. The programme provides participants with a wide range of activities to help them make the right decisions about American higher education.
Many congratulations to Loreto students Faiza Mansoor, Wiktoria Gucia and Florence Jones for securing a place on this highly competitive programme
Their successes follow on from previous Loreto students. Aquib Akhtar was selected for the Summer School last year. Aquib went on to apply and he has secured a scholarship for Connecticut College with a $70,000 annual scholarship (which includes the $50k annual fees).
Summer schools provide a real insight into the demands of Higher Education. Loreto actively promote opportunities for summer schools, apprenticeships, employment, universities, and many other events to all students, some of these are local, others are International, all provide support for our learners to achieve their ambitions.
